6.4/10

My stay at the hotel in Blackpool was a mixed experience. The rooms were much better than expected, but they were small and not very clean. The service was friendly and helpful, although there were some issues with courtesy and timeliness. The location was fantastic, close to key attractions, but the noise from the kitchen extraction unit was a significant drawback. The dining experience left much to be desired, with service and breakfast quality falling short. Overall, there were highs and lows during my stay.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms in Blackpool were loads better than the photos but were not very clean and quite small.
Service
7.0
The service of the hotel we stayed in was helpful and friendly. However, there were instances that showed a need for improvement.
Location

The location was great, with easy access to key attractions, but the noise from the kitchen extraction unit was disruptive.
Dining

The dining experience was a disappointment due to issues with service and the breakfast quality.

6.8/10

My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms felt more like singles than small doubles, and the shower pressure was quite low. The reception area had stained carpets, though everything was clean overall. It wouldn't be suitable for a long stay, but it served its purpose for a short visit.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were clean, and the bathroom was also tidy. However, they were more suitable for single occupants rather than couples. The shower had low pressure, making it challenging to get fully wet.
Service
9.0
The staff, especially at reception and in the dining area, were very friendly and helpful. I found them to be accommodating and always willing to assist.
Location
6.0
The hotel's location had both positives and negatives. It was conveniently close to town and within walking distance of the beach, shops, and local attractions. However, being near the bar meant noise disturbances, and the cleanliness standard could have been better.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience had its ups and downs. The staff were kind enough to provide toast and cereal when we had to leave early before breakfast started. However, the breakfast setup was disorganized, and there wasn't enough space for the hotel's size. Basic food hygiene standards were lacking, which was quite disappointing.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had the necessary amenities but lacked attention to detail, especially in cleanliness. The entertainment each night was a plus point, and the lift access was convenient for getting around.

5.0/10

I had a bit of a mixed experience at this hotel. On the positive side, the room was equipped with a travel black-out blind, which was a lifesaver with my three young kids. However, there were some notable drawbacks like the lack of a hairdryer in the room, uncomfortable sleeping arrangements with a double bed pushed against the wall, and the inconvenience of having to boil water for a shave due to no hot water. The breakfast was subpar, and the Wi-Fi signal was only accessible around the reception area. It pains me to say this as I've had great experiences with other Royal hotels in the past.

Rooms
5.0
The room had some essential features like a travel black-out blind for my kids, but the absence of a hairdryer and hot water was disappointing. Uncomfortable sleeping arrangements also marred the experience.
Service
5.0
The staff need some retraining in manners, and the room didn't match the advertised photos. On the brighter side, the hotel next door was welcoming and kind, especially towards my children.
Location
6.0
The hotel's location was convenient for the Winter Gardens and Tower area, but some areas needed updating. The entertainment staff were friendly, though.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience fell short of expectations with limited breakfast options and unreasonably high prices for drinks. The cleanliness was questionable, and the threat of a £50 charge just to clean up after taking food to the room was off-putting.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities didn't stand out, and the overall value for money was low given the shortcomings in various areas.
